Longhirst Golf Club score a Hole in One with superfast broadband

Sign up for superfast broadband has taken Longhirst Golf Club’s communication with its members out of the rough and onto the green!

Graham Chambers, Director of Golf at Longhirst Golf Club, explained that the club’s ethos is to make golf accessible to everyone. They have around 900 members but found that their old broadband service, with speeds of less than 1 Mbps, could not support their growing needs. Emails to members to notify them of upcoming competitions had to be issued 50 at a time making it a laborious process.

Following a switch to superfast broadband they have been able to transfer to cloud based booking systems, meaning they can communicate with all 900 members on a weekly or daily basis at the touch of a button. This has resulted in take up for competitions increasing by up to 80% which is good news for this family run business who are tee’ing up for an even brighter future.

Graham would recommend that other businesses take advantage of superfast broadband adding that it has “increased our business, increased our membership and increased our competition take up, it’s a no-brainer really”.
